Caronia Chasse

It's been a while since I last posted my current nail color here and I'm finally back because it is holiday again! Caronia Philippines recently launched its newest collection in collaboration with Ballet Philippines dubbed as "Art of Dance" collection which showcases 3 gorgeous hues.

One of those hues are called “Chasse” which is an electric blue that’s perfect for summer! The word Chasse means a dance step used in many dance variations. The other hues are called “Pique” and “Glissade” which are another dance terms and I am reserving those for another blog post since each color can stand on its own. J

Thanks again Caronia Philippines and congratulations for having such a gorgeous, flamboyant collection! ♥

Halloween 2013: Dracula + Stitch Nails

October is almost ending and Halloween is just around the corner. It’s the time of the year when we are planning of dressing up on what character we would like to represent on the day of the dead. If you will ask me what I would like to dress up for this year, I would rather be a fairy, a goddess, a white lady, or anyone that requires to wear a light and flowy dress. My mind just wanted to rock that fashion statement on November 1st.

On to this blog post, since it is Manicure Monday, I am sharing my first Halloween-inspired manicure for 2013! I’m quite proud on how these Dracula nails have turned out, not scary but cute! Plus, it was super easy to do and you will just need 2 basic nail polish color, which is black and white. You will also need a dotting tool or a toothpick to draw Dracula’s face and those stitches. I recommend this manicure if you are looking for a last minute idea since it is so easy to recreate.

Sweet Cherry Nail Polish in Magic Black | OMG Nail Polish in White Out | OMG Dotting Tool

I decided to have his face as accent nails on my ring and middle finger, and decorate the rest with stitches.

And as always, here's a step-by-step guide on how I achieved these Dracula Manicure:

1. Paint your nails 2 thin coats of white polish
2. Draw 2 curve lines that meets at the center and fill it in with either a dotting tool or a toothpick.
3. Draw 2 medium circles for eyes.
4. Draw 2 lines above the eyes for eyebrows.
5. Draw 2 smaller circles inside the eyes for details.
6. Finally, add a top coat to seal in your design.

For the stitch, simply draw a straight line and add smaller lines perpendicular to it. Also add a top coat to seal in your design.

I hope you like it and I am looking forward in posting more of Halloween-inspired manicure before the month ends. ♥

Midnight Sky Nails

It’s been so long since I last painted my nails and I don’t know why I’ve decided to do it today. Maybe because it’s Manicure Monday? Well, it has been unusual to see my nails bare since I started to be addicted in nail polishes and embrace on changing my nail color every week. I just agreed to myself not to do it for a while since I left my job because I will be attending series of interviews during my job hunt and having an uncommon color of nails may cause disappointment to an interviewer. No other fancy reasons, just that.

Today I am replicating the midnight sky on my nails using these 2 new blue nail polishes which are Oh My Golly in Bahama Blue and Klik in Witch Blue. I don’t have my glitter polishes nor my white one to complete the look with the moon and bigger stars so a plain night sky with small stars in it is what I have created. J

Hairless Armpits Talk + Nanny Rose's Queen Bee Wax Review

Hairless armpits is what we girls are always dreaming of. The humid temperature here in the Philippines can be one of the many reasons why we should give extra attention to the armpit area. Why? Because we tend to wear sleeveless tops and dresses that are exposing that delicate area most of the time. And with that, it is mandatory to keep it clean, smooth and most importantly, hairless every time.

Today, we have lots of options for our hair removal needs. We can pluck, shave, wax or use hair removal cream. I’m sure most of you have already tried these procedures. I used to shave my underarm area for the last 8 years, since I don’t really care that much about this issue because I am not fond of wearing any sleeveless attire until now. And when I do, I make sure that it was paired with cardigan, blazer or jacket to keep me comfortable. I don’t know, I feel almost naked when showing off my shoulder. But that was before. I am more conscious of my armpits now. Shaving could be the most effortless option to go since it gives quick results but the hair tends to go back within 12-24 hours. This is because the hair is only removed on the surface. Shaving can also result to a dark underarm area due to the harsh effect of blade on skin. Plucking can cause chicken skin so I didn't recommend it either.

I recently shift in waxing my underarms. Negative opinions in waxing have gave me a doubt to try it in the first place. They say that it was so painful and you wouldn't wanted to try it unless you can endure so much pain. But Ate Len have fade that wrong belief after she posted about underarm waxing in her blog. I then ask her about it and she definitely recommend this process than plucking or shaving. She guaranteed that it was less painful than I ever imagined and she even endorse Nanny Rose's Queen Bee Wax and a DIY waxing session every weekend.

The product includes 2 sticks and 4 strips of waxing cloth that you can use during the procedure. You also has an option to wax in cold or hot. I prefer the hot one because it was less painful than the cold one. The good thing about  Nanny Rose's Queen Bee wax is it is made with all-natural ingredients. I bought it at Watsons Drugstore for P75 (approximately $2) for this 100g and I believe it is available in most of their branches. It is also available in bigger bottles which may give you more savings. I prefer to buy smaller one since it was my first time to do it and it will just be under a trial period. Plus, you can use the whole 100g pretty much in 3 months or so, with a weekly frequency. Will I repurchase? Definitely, YES! For me it was a smart buy, only P75 for 3 months usage and hairless armpit?!

On to the process of waxing, I know everyone almost knew this but I am dedicating this to those that might wanted to try waxing in the future. Just steep the wax in hot water, leave it for 20-30 minutes (make sure that the consistency is almost like a water before taking it out). I recommend doing the process with someone that you will not be shy to take those unwanted hairs from your armpits. It may be easier that way than doing it all alone. Lie on a flat surface and lift your hands up, scoop some of the honey wax using the ice drop sticks provided with it and spread it on the underarm area with those unwanted hairs. Place the cloth strip over the wax and allow it to cool for 1-2 minutes. Once the wax has been slightly harden, pull the cloth strip on the opposite direction of the hair growth. I recommend applying baby powder on the area after the procedure to minimize irritation.

Sultry Red Nails

It’s Manicure Monday again! Luckily I got the chance to have another nail-related post today since it’s a holiday (Oh, how I love August for having so much holidays in it!). And holiday for me means celebration since I would have an extra time to do whatever I wanted to do including my rarely update on this blog. And to call for the celebration, I painted my nails red! Red, to many, can stand for a lot of things but today this is the definition I choose. Red is for celebration and festivity! After all, we are celebrating the National Heroes day today which marks the valor of our Filipino heroes that fought for our country’s independence. Red symbolizes their courage too!

This was my second time to paint my nails red but it was the first time that I felt my nails sexy. Instant sexy nails? Did that made any sense? Haha! Maybe it was because of the sultry tone of this one, we all know that being sexy is describe as sultry and that could be the reason why I achieved an instant sexy nail feel.  I first thought of having a simple nail art today like I promised in my last posts but when I tried this color, I know nail art would not be needed because the color itself can stand out on its own. To catch up with that, I intentionally get my striped t-shirt to resemble a nautical vibe for these nails. And seeing the photos, I know I succeed!

True nautical nails will come next I swear! I was inspired enough by cutepolish on Youtube that I wanted to replicate her cute version of nautical manicure! And this sultry red color would be perfect for that!

Bunny Nails

It’s Monday and it’s raining hard in the Philippines! Tropical storm Maring is continuously pouring the country with heavy rainfall that caused flooding in various places and class suspension as well office work schedules. Luckily, I am not included on the number of families suffering from the effects of this tropical storm. It was technically a holiday for me since today is Manuel L. Quezon day and I am working at Quezon City, the city named after this hero. I ideally wanted to make this day productive since last week where I planned to go to my college school at Sta. Mesa, Manila to get my TOR, then go to Ortigas, Mandaluyong City to get my certificate from the last Strategic Marketing Conference (StratMark2013). But here I am, shut in the house all day because of the heavy rain.

But to make it all up, I am still trying to be productive as I can by doing other works and drafting blog posts for this blog. And today I will talk about this cutie Bunny Nails that I wore last week since it is Manicure Monday. This is another simple nail art that I am inspired to do after my Piggy Nails. I am planning to post more of these simple nail art that you can DIY (Do-It-Yourself) if my time permits me. Bunny is one of the cutest pet you can ever had. And I personally love this cutie animal! I mean, who wouldn’t be? They are awesomely adorable! And imagine wearing them on your nails? Yes please! More particularly if they will be in different colors! I personally love to wear them in soft pastel hues that was inspired by Easter eggs! And yes, this is a perfect Easter manicure!

And just like the last time that I posted a nail art manicure, I am also posting a step-by-step guide on how to achieve it (see the photo above) and yes, I am committing to have this guide every time my Manicure Monday post is about nail art, complicated or not. Hope that you've enjoyed this Bunny nail post.

Birthday Nails + Diffi Nail Polish Mini Review

It's Manicure Monday again! How time flies so fast! July is almost ending now! One month to go and it's already "ber" months! I can smell the Christmas already! Hahaha! Weird me again, talking about Christmas in July? Wooot~!

To be honest, July is the only month in a year that I can't feel passing by. Considering it is my birth month! Well maybe because every time this month starts, I am always looking forward to its end. Don't get me wrong, it is not because I don't like to live each of July's days, it is because the month's almost end is my birthday! And that day was yesterday, July 28. In line with this Manicure Monday post, what I am sharing today is my birthday nails! Violet is my favorite color and it was my tradition to wear violet color from head to foot on this special day. Talk about color addiction! Haha! Not to mention, I always make sure that my cake is violet in each 28th day of July!
But that was before. Yesterday was quite different from the rest. I opt wearing red instead of violet, I didn't have a violet cake. It was like an ordinary day with my boyfriend and I even refuse to go out when he said that we will be going to celebrate. I don't know, I've looked up for this day the whole month, plan so much things to do to make it extra special and yet it came out like an ordinary day.
So to cheer myself up again, I wear my favorite color on my nails. Diffi nail polish is a Thai brand. Ate Len (happy-whenever.blogspot.com) brought it for me in their recent trip to Thailand as my pasalubong! Yay! The first time I saw them, I just died! They're just in perfect timing as my birthday nail color. I'm amazed with the consistency of this lacquer since I didn't expect it to be that good. Maybe because this was the first time I encountered the brand name. (Lesson? Don't judge the book by its cover! lol) You just need one (1) coat for the dark color and two (2) coats for the lighter one. An average nail polish consistency will take you to have 2 coats in dark nail polish, and 3 coats in light one. That is why the consistency of Diffi was that great!

Piggy Nails

Hello short nails, Manicure Monday! I've managed to keep my promise this week! And this week's nails are quite special because I am wearing a nail art!

Well not one of those gorgeous yet complicated nail art that you usually see, but I am proud that I have made it myself! Plus, if you are a regular reader of this blog, you may actually know how I am usually ranting about having a busy schedule, and for the nth time, I will say, I am not complaining, just plain rant. That just explains how big deal it is for me to find time for such things like nail art. Lol.

Now back to my nails, look at my cutie piggy nails! I am staring at my little nail polish collection the whole morning yesterday undecided on what color to wear this week. Until I've decided to go girly in pink but having them in different shades just caused me another confusion! /simpleyetcomplicatedgirlproblems From there, I thought of choosing at least 2 shades and create a simple nail art out of it. There comes the idea of having these cutie pigs on my nails! Just a few curves, dot and line and you will achieve it! To those who are still curious on how to do this, I created a simple tutorial below, hope this helps! Plus, I have realized that it is better to wear your nails short if you will be doing a nail art. Long nails fit a one color/plain manicure only. Just a simple tip!

As you can see from the actual photos above, there are two kinds/size of pigs on my nails. One being the half-nail size and the other is in full-nail size. That is why I created 2 different illustrations. Well, here's a confession about having those two: I am actually planning to have a pig nail art just on my ring finger and leave the rest of my nails plain pink. /lazygirl

But I still end up wanting to have them in all of my nails so I just find an easier way to recreate them /lazymeagain, lol/.   My problem is, I have already painted all the other nails with light pink and I don't want to erase it and repaint it all over again just t achieve the half-nail size pig. Besides, having an option is always great. (palusot!)

I used this Caronia Rosy Glow nail polish as the base color for this manicure. This was from the Caronia Expressions collection that they've generously sent me last summer.

I forgot to include this when I shot my nails but here are what I've used for this manicure from my Instragram post yesterday: Oh My Golly nail polishes in Bikini and Black Out; Caronia Rosy Glow; OPI Top Coat and OMG nail dotter. If you haven't yet, follow me on Instagram @priscillajoycepardo!

Blistex Lip Tone

They say that if there is one thing a woman should not forget to have before leaving the house, it should be a LIPSTICK! (Or just a lip color I guess?) Why? Because putting on some colors to your lips can make a whole lot of difference. Having a bad hair day, bad outfit, or even bad mood can be pass by, but having a pale face cannot save you from a day of misery!

I completely agree to this thought but I am not completely convinced. Haha. It's ironic how things can come like this but that's how it used to be for me. I tend to pass each day without makeup on, that is why most of my Instagram photos are tag with #nomakeup hashtag. But that doesn't mean I don't have even one lip product in my bag when I leave the house. I tend to bring not just one, or two, but 12 lip products to be exact! That's how weird I am! Bringing those stuffs every single day without an assurance that I will use even one of them! But when it comes to a lip product must-have, this one I am having a review today is one on my list.

Blistex Lip Tone is a 3-in-1 product that would make each girl's life easier. If you are like me who thinks that wearing a lipstick is just for big occasions/celebrations and not for everyday use, then this product is right for you! Blistex has been introduced to me by my boyfriend's sister, ate Len (her blog is happy-whenever.blogspot.com). It is a lip moisturizer, lip protectant and lip tone in one! It enhances the natural pigment of your lips with a slight touch of color. Imagine wearing a lip color without everyone noticing that you're not!

By the way, I bought mine at Mercury Drugstore. Ate Len told me that this is also available at Watsons.
Visit www.blistex.com for more details.

Navy Blue Nails

It's Manicure Monday! Am I keeping my promise again? Am I? Am I? Ohh.. Sorry but I'm not. It's just that I got some free time yesterday to change my nail color because I gave up some things that I need to do. I honestly didn't list changing my nail color in my priority now. But I am keeping this blog as one in top of that list!

On to my nails, I am currently wearing this Klik Nail Polish in Navy Blue which is almost a violet color that I really love! Plus it matches the pink dress that I am wearing today so well! Violet and pink are always my go-to color when I feel like an extra "girly girl"!

Nude Nails

Neutrals are always a life-saver for our "color dilemmas". Why? It would go great with almost anything! Today, I want to share my current nail color (in my favorite brand of course) which is a nude/ skin tone/ neutral brown shade. I am wearing Oh My Golly nail polish in Naked. I love this warm color that greatly compliments my morena skin. I am dressing crazily throughout the week and will be having an event on weekend so this would be a perfect nail color for me to rock on.

Green Tea Nails

Nail polish used: Klik Nail Polish in Green Tea. I love that earth/jewel tone of this nail polish because they are giving me a calming feel. Plus, this hue is so close to emerald which is a big trend since it is the color of the year for 2013!

Summer 2013: Loreland Farm Resort

(Hello there big sister!) Summer is all about having fun under the sun so allow me to share another summer escapade I had with my family this time! One sunny Sunday, we decided to have our summer getaway for this year and since we didn't have any idea on where to go, I decided to bring them to Loreland Farm Resort where my classmates have once brought me for our overnight barkada get-together. The first time I saw this place, I knew this is awesome! And since my first time in here is at night, I thought I will appreciate this more  on daytime. And I was right!

Loreland Farm Resort is a piece of paradise in the heart of Antipolo City, Rizal. The ambiance in the place is just breath-taking, it feels like the nature is so close to you. Fresh air, green leaves and serene scene of the city. That's how I will describe my new-found summer place! And since the place is located in a high point of the country, taking a tour in the resort leads you to many stairs.

I wore a simple tank-top and shorts number for this trip and this means comfort!

I told you! This place has so many stairs to lead you up and down! We had so much fun playing in the water all day! Will I come back? Definitely, YES!

For more details, you can visit Loreland Farm Resort's website: www.loreland.com.ph or Facebook Page: Lorelan Farm Resort on Facebook
