Pop of Yellow

It has been a busy week (or month I must say) at work hence the lack of update in here. Since I found time now, posting a quick update of what I wore yesterday - a comfy Sunday number going to my boyfriend's mini family gathering to watch the Battle of the Century in boxing ring, Mayweather vs Pacquiao. Since this will be some kind of staycation, I really made sure to wear the comfiest outfit so I can move (and lie down) freely throughout the day. The result of the fight may be disappointing, but I am still proud of our Filipino pride Manny Pacquiao for putting up a great and fair fight yesterday!

Shift to Shift

Lately, I've been living in a one-step dressing both for work and personal pursuit. I don't know, maybe one factor that affects my choice of dressing is the limited time to prepare myself in the morning - that is why I am opting for a no-brainer fashion in a form of dress.

Dress: Plastic (Korean brand) thrifted | Bag: Gift from a relative | Sandals: Zalora (find the direct link here)
A-Line silhouette has always been my go-to choice since my tummy is usually not cooperating. But currently, I am obsessed with shift dresses because I find it more effective in hiding my insecurity - it's because of its columnar cut and no defined waistline I guess! I love how this silhouette is boxy and flattering when it skims the outline of the body. ♥

Dress details - I just love the ceramic print in blue and red on this denim dress! ♥
Bag details - I think this came from Thailand because of "boho" style and elephant prints!
Shift dress is an appropriate casual outfit if paired with simple flats - best for laid-back Sundays!

Christmas Shopping - For The Men

Time flies real fast! I can't believe we're already halfway through with November! Do you have your Christmas list already? If yes, then you must start your shopping for it now! :) It will surely save your time from crazy holiday traffic!

Shopping is one of the things myself is enjoying, whether it's in mall, tiangge, thrift shop and even online. It always gives me pleasure and takes away all my pressure - talk about hitting two birds with one stone! ;) But there is one part of it that makes me crazy every time, it is selecting something for men may it be my boyfriend, male friend, cousins, etc. But the increasing means of shopping nowadays makes it easier for people like me. And today I am listing my choice of  Christmas gift suggestions for the men of your life so keep on reading!

1. Scarfs/Shawl  - Although it's not raining snow here in the Philippines, it tends to be too cold on Christmas season so giving something to keep men warm is always a good idea.

2. Customizable Watch - with the rise of fashion trends today, men are now considering accessorizing their OOTDs to be part of everyday life. I think giving your men a cute customizable watch will be greatly appreciated!

3. Cool Headphones - men are usually into music so headphones are also a good choice to give. I have looked for unique ones online and the selection of cool headphones from Zalora won my heart. I think it would be a great Christmas gift for your male friends or family members!

I hope this short list helps! I am publishing this also for myself and bookmark these links for my Christmas shopping, you could do it as well!

Caronia Chasse

It's been a while since I last posted my current nail color here and I'm finally back because it is holiday again! Caronia Philippines recently launched its newest collection in collaboration with Ballet Philippines dubbed as "Art of Dance" collection which showcases 3 gorgeous hues.

One of those hues are called “Chasse” which is an electric blue that’s perfect for summer! The word Chasse means a dance step used in many dance variations. The other hues are called “Pique” and “Glissade” which are another dance terms and I am reserving those for another blog post since each color can stand on its own. J

Thanks again Caronia Philippines and congratulations for having such a gorgeous, flamboyant collection! ♥

Chinese New Year Nails

Today we are welcoming the Chinese New Year and that means it's a holiday today! Yey! I am really amazed how time flies so fast, it seems that yesterday is just Christmas then there comes the new year but today we will bid goodbye to the first month of 2014. And that also shows how terrible I become in updating this blog because this is just my second post for this year!

And since today is a holiday, not to mention it's also a long weekend (yay again!), I found some time to do the things I needed to do aside from my primary and secondary work. (Yes, I do have 2 jobs that occupies all my time for blogging.) Anyhow, today's post is a relative one since I became inspired to paint my nails red and turn it into simple nail art design inspired by the Chinese New Year. I used the traditional red and gold combination that symbolizes fortune according to some Chinese beliefs. It just took me a minute or two to finish my both hands but looking at the end product doesn't even depict that this is a less than 5-minute nail art! Maybe because the combination of red and gold just looks so perfect?

I simply paint my nails with 2 coats of red then let it dry for 30 seconds. Then I pour small amount of gold nail polish in a flat surface, grab a tiny chunk of plastic wrap and crumple it to form a small ball, dab it to the gold color then dab it over the nails I just painted with red.

Kung Hei Fat Choi and Gong Xi Fa Cai to all my Filipino-Chinese friends!

New Year's Resolutions

Hello 2014! This is my first post for this year and it somehow indicates how this blog will work throughout the year. Even though it is embarrassing to admit that I gradually cannot find time to blog, I am sharing my New Year’s resolution that includes this issue to cover up that mess.

Writing a New Year’s resolution is something that I am looking forward every time the year ends, but also something that gives me pressure because I cannot assure that I could work on every detail that I write in it. But I am still making my own list every year no matter what happens. After all, it’s just a matter of being positive, believing and committing to your priorities.

Top and Skirt: John Briann | Shoes: SM Parisian Comfy | Cardigan: Thrifted
Today’s outfit post is related on this topic in some way as every one of us wanted to welcome the year with a peaceful start which is represented by color white. Plus, the top I am wearing here shows different letters that looks like words written in a blank white canvass, just like every New Year’s resolution list. J

Without further ado, below is my simple New Year’s Resolution list:

  1. Eat in fewer amounts every meal.
  2. Eat fruits more often.
  3. Commit to exercise every weekend.
  4. Plan ahead, be more organized.
  5. Spend less and save more.
  6. Find time to blog.
  7. Find ways to discover new things!

OOTD: Philippine Independence Day

3 days ago, we have celebrated the 115th Philippine Independence Day. I used to appreciate this day during my school years but now that I am already working, holidays like this makes me look forward to have a vacation than reflection. I know this isn't right but I am working regularly 6 days a week, 7 days straight if I needed to attend a marketing event and no, I am not complaining. I am enjoying my work and the experience I am earning from it but my body and mind doesn't. I'm much more exhausted and burnout than my usual state so I can't blame my self. Rest assured, I'm much more satisfied with my first job.

Shoes and Shorts: Bazaar | T-shirt: Mogu Mogu Manila | Watch: Maxxe | Bag: Romwe
Moving on, this are the nail colors and outfit I wore last June 12. I basically want to replicate the colors of the Philippine flag which are red, blue, yellow and white and felt so happy when I realize that I have these bold colors on my closet. I rarely wear bold colors because it wouldn't blend well with my morena (fair) complexion but at least I proved that I am not afraid to wear them that's why I have them! And it is Independence day so I thought I have the freedom to wear what I want to wear? lol.

My take on Independence Day manicure is this frosted colors of Philippine flag! No nail art / design done but I'm happy with the result. Besides, since they are all in bold colors, I thought being simple would be better.

And this is the whole look! I know, shameless mirror selfies are unforgivable but that's all I can do. First, I don't have someone to take my photo and second, if I will have one, I will always feel and look awkward while taking them. As I am always saying, I haven't learned on how to pose for a portrait shot in the camera and still didn't know when I will learn that. I hope it will be as soon as possible? Please?

It was my first time also to wear this cutie Mogu Mogu Manila shirt and I really love it! I got lots of compliments wearing it and I am wanting to have them in every color! I have posted the closer look of it on Instagram that was the photo shown below. And if you haven't yet, please follow me @priscillajoycepardo!

That's all and I'll see you again next time! ♥

Summer 2013: Purple Rainbow

It's summer time! It's about time to take all those crazy colors and prints our of your closet! We all have an excuse to wear them all out this season so let's get it on! Hooray for summer!

I got this pretty purple dress earlier in November last year and have reserved it for our Boracay outing but sadly, it didn't come in time. So I kept it for long while I am looking for the best time to wear it. Now here's summer that is giving me the passport and telling me to go "gaga" over this beautiful number. What did I do? Of course, I'm much more willing to obey! (teheeee!) I wore it on our family outing, just throw on a sandals and a boho-like bag in its color family and voila! I'm now ready for beach!

I also love how it came in a bohemian cut which is another plus! Flowy dress like these are so "in" this summer! Thank you so much Sammy Dress!

Style Staple: Denim Scheme

Today's Style Staple is inspired by my one thing in my bucket list: denim pieces! I seriously want to own a denim button up to and a denim dress! So when I saw this denim top on Romwe, aside from boosting my cravings to have it, I tried to style it in the most comfortable way because as you know, this segment on my blog refers to an everyday fashion inspiration, something you can wear on day-to-day basis. I also experimented on getting all the pieces in one shop and wooot! I succeed!

All the items in this post comes from one shop which is Romwe. You can click on the link below if you are interested with any of them:
